As it is known, transportation vehicles can move on land, in the air and in the sea. The means of transportation have many types in itself. The means of transportation basically aim to make it easier for us to travel or carry something from one place to another. For example, we prefer to go by a transportation vehicle rather than walking a road of twenty-five miles. This saves us time.
The average person moves at three miles per hour. Accordingly, while we can travel the twenty-five-mile road in approximately thirty minutes with a transportation vehicle, we can complete it in approximately eight hours on foot without stopping. A means of transportation is of great importance not only for people, but also for people to carry goods and loads. For example, let’s say you want to buy a seventy-kilogram refrigerator.
Have this refrigerator vendor only five miles from your home. Even if it is a walkable distance of five miles, it will be very difficult, if not impossible, to walk all the way with a load of seventy kilograms on your back. In short, we need transportation vehicles for reasons such as saving time and energy.
Transportation vehicles generally work with fossil fuels, electrical energy or renewable energy. But if we are talking about a means of transportation such as a bicycle, which is very environmentally friendly, we need to turn the pedals ourselves and provide it with energy to move.
Now let’s talk about the well-known means of transportation today.
Car: It is the most common of our means of transportation, which is almost everywhere, generally having four wheels. It also has models for different usage purposes. For example, luxury and high-speed sports cars, cars with large luggage size, and off-road cars that can provide a high advantage over terrain conditions can be counted. Although fossil fuels have been needed to meet the required energy for a long time, the use of electric cars has become widespread today.
Bus: When we say public transportation on land, the first thing that comes to our mind is the buses, which allow us to travel in and out of the city as well as prevent traffic congestion.
Train/metro: Trains and subways have a very important place in terms of urban or intercity public transportation or freight transport via railways on land. They are quite economical as the cost required for their operation is lower than that of cars or buses. Today, they generally work with magnetic energy.
Airplane: Airplanes travel in the air and offer much faster and more comfortable transportation compared to land or sea transportation vehicles. In addition to being very fast and comfortable for people, airplanes are also very convenient means of transportation for carrying cargo.
Ship: Ships provide us a very economical transportation opportunity thanks to their ability to move on water. Ships are the oldest means of transportation. In addition to the purpose of carrying cargo and providing transportation on the sea, they are also very ideal tools for fishing.
